In February 2019, N2P began a partnership with The London Film School [LFS], a world-class Film Academy located in Covent Garden and named one of Variety’s Top Film Schools for 2019.
Working with both the MA Screenwriting and MA Filmmaking, N2P is bringing our network of actors to the LFS students, introducing a collaborative approach to working with actors into the filmmakers’ practice. N2P now regularly source actors for a variety of paid opportunities at LFS, including table readings, directing practice, scene study workshops, showcases, Q&As, and special events.
Since beginning with LFS, N2P have since extended our services to various other film schools - including masterclasses at Central Film School, London Screen Academy, and the Almeida theatre.

Screenwriting: Actors Table Readings
N2P sources actors for the LFS MA Screenwriting’s quarterly Actors Table Readings, a collaborative session that allows students hear their in-progress scripts read by professional actors, facilitated by a professional director. With N2P’s help, students are invited to experiment with improvisation as a writing technique, engage with the actors’ process as a tool for investigating character psychology, and invite actors’ feedback on the new work.
FILMMAKING: FILM CLUB & DIRECTING PRACTICE
As the LFS MA Filmmaking students begin to think about directing their Term 5 short films and Term 6 graduate films, N2P provide actors for extra-curricular directing practice. Directors choose short scenes and spend a 3-hour session with actors, staging and redirecting the short passages of text to get a feel for how to communicate with actors and start finding talent they work well with.
SCENE STUDY WORKSHOPs
N2P has arranged bespoke workshops for screenwriting students at LFS, LSA, Central Film School, and the Almeida theatre to familiarise writers with an actors’ process when approaching a new script. At one such event at LFS, after introducing the writers to a series of ice-breakers and drama games, N2P co-founders Scott Howland and Harriet Taylor directed a group of actors in a scene, inviting the writers to comment and participate. Using only the context provided by the scene, writers got to see how a creative team might interpret stage directions, beats, and even fill in the gaps when the writing was insufficient or unclear. These workshops can be easily tailored to suit the age, experience, and objectives of the cohort.
SCREENWRITers’ GRADUATION SHOWCASE
In January 2020, N2P was asked to curate the first ever live showcase of MA Screenwriters’ work at their graduation ceremony at the BFI Southbank. Six N2P actors performed 18 scenes featuring over 60 speaking characters in just over 90 minutes for an industry audience of agents, producers, directors, screenwriters, and LFS patrons. Following the performance, writers were approached by literary agents and producers interested in developing their work and many of the actors were invited to audition for further projects. An online, filmed variation on this showcase was devised during COVID and produced in both 2021 and 2022.
